Dog Walks: Malvern Hills, British Camp Circuit Route:

Standing in the British Camp Car Park walk to the corner of the car park opposite the Refreshment Hut, here you will find a gate, go through the gate and pass by the British Camp Herefordshire Beacon Commemorative  Plaque on your right.

As you climb the steep path you will soon come to a junction where the path either goes straight on or sharp right, at this point you turn right here, it then turns sharp left again, now you are climbing quite a steep incline on a hard path.  There is a path off to the left mid-way but you continue on ahead.

At the top of the slope where the hard path ends you can see straight ahead there is a grassy path, but here you turn right on to a hard path, then after approximately 10 paces turn left on to the track heading up towards the summit.  There are a number of grassy path and tracks join the main hard path, but you continue on the hard path heading up towards the summit.

As you climb the hard path, you will find a number of steps on the ascent up to the summit, there are in the region of 56 steps here to the summit.

Where you enter the summit, and once you have admired the stunning panoramic views, you then need to exit the summit directly opposite where you entered it.  You are now heading along towards another peak; here you can see the Reservoir down on the left.

Once you reach this second lower peak, you will then see ahead in the distance then at the next little peak where the gravel path turns and drops down to the left.  Once you reach the gravel track it heads down the hill and turns into steps, there are in the region of 55 steps on this decent.

As you have weaved you way down the steps you will see the path continues on ahead, walk as far as the Monument for a look, then do a U-turn left and you will join a gravel path which is descends gently between trees, you will then see the Reservoir now on your right.  This gravel path descends gently around the contour of the hill, it then rises gently, do not deviate off on any of the grass tracks just continue on the main path.

You will then have a wooded area next to you on your right, and then you merge with a hard track which feeds in from the left, you continue straight ahead.

You will soon come to a fork where the left fork goes along the level, but the right fork drops you down the slope, here you take the right fork, go through the gate at the bottom of the slope and you are now back in the British Camp Car Park.
