Persistence is paying off. Sarchie is sleeping much better. He loves his new home and is starting to understand the command of ‘sit’. Doesn’t work all the time, but he knows if he does well, he gets rewarded.
Katy is behaving herself and keeps away from him. She has taken to sitting on the arm of the sofa chair and keeping an eye on him from higher up! It is amusing to watch her as Sarchie walks ‘under’ her by the arm – she always drops her paw down as if to move him away and show that she is the boss. She never gets close to him, which is excellent news. They are getting used to being in the same room, but still with a distance.
He is going to his bed when he gets tired and calming down.
For the first time, Angie slept upstairs, with Sarchie in his bed. He soon calls out when he wakes up, so it’s time to go downstairs and let him out to go to the toilet. Starting to work like clockwork and he goes everytime. Not helped by the fact that I am re-building the bathroom, which means the only toilet is downstairs at present. To get to it, you need to walk past his bed. When he’s awake he will see you, and that means…time for a pee!
Now he’s downstairs and Angie is upstairs, I am able to lend a hand at taking him outside when he wakes in the middle of the night. I am trying to do what I can to help Angie get some sleep, but he tends to wake both of us up during the night.
Starting to get into routine with everyone helping. Angie takes him out before bed, She takes him out at 2am, me at 4am, Georgie at 6am. Still sleepless nights, but getting used to it now. Angie has the worse deal as she is getting constant broken sleep.
